The Girls

Uncle Reed and Aunt Michelle had a wonderful time watching our two nieces this weekend. (Well we only had them one night but, as tired as we were you would think we had them for the week!) The were very well behaved and we had a lot of fun. Both of the girls LOVE their uncle and want him more than me (unless they are in the bathroom or need changing :)). Reed refuses to change a diaper and proceeds to gag if asked or is around a diaper being change. (If any moms out there have ideas for how to break this before we have children (which is not happening any time soon) I would love your advice!) Morgan, the 3 1/2 year old, is talking constantly and Lilly (1) is trying to talk like her big sister, but more importantly running everywhere. They were a lot of fun and a lot of energy. It's funny how I seemed to chase the girls around, play with them on the floor, get the things out of their mouths, and Reed jumped in when they wanted to watch a movie. (Is that how it will be too?) Well he wasn't that bad he did help with dinner and give baths, maybe I'm stuck on the inability to change a diaper even a wet one, he says it feels heavy and grosses him out. WOW, is there any hope?

We had a great time with the girls and loved having them with us for a few days. It's hard not to they were really well behaved, and look how cute they are.

I can't believe how big Lilly has gotten. They are both so cute. You're young you can't be that tired. Yes, that's how it will be. Reed, you have to learn how to change a diaper. Michelle can't be with a baby for the first three years of it's life and never leave because it grosses you out. Although you are the only person I've ever seen puke when they pick up dog poop!!!!!!! We'll have to toughen you up.

This explains a lot.

What a wuss.

Thanks for the the dog s*** incident which I never heard of before but am glad to now have this valuable piece of damaging information.

What other embarassing tid bits does Mother Mokler have on file?

Must be a vertiable treasure trove of zipper mishaps and watermelon incidents.

Actually "mom" is my mom Mother Pellico. After 5 years she has quite a few embarassing tid bits too.
PS put your name so we know who you are!!

Reed, Buck up! Diapers really gross me out too. You are just going to have to face the reality that your child is going to pee, poo and puke up all over you. It happens almost everyday here at our house. Good luck!

Michelle, Trust me. I was the same way. I could never imagine changing a poopy before we had our own. But as soon as you have your own Reed's fatherly instincts will kick in just like your motherly instincts will. People change overnight when the baby comes. Women especially. You change from being a woman to a mother. It was amazing to see the transformation in Christine but since I have seen the same things in others as well. It just happens. Don't know how, but it does.

Steve, thanks for the hope that his instincts will kick in, however, I'm not so sure they will. He really did puke picking up dog s#*t. I hope you are right because I thought with the girls he would come around and that still hasn't changed. I hope when it is his own child he will. I will hold out hope that you are right, but let's face it Reed is a whimp when it comes to this. You do remember his theory on potty training: When the child gets old enough to use the potty and needs to be wiped, Reed will call him/her to the back yard and hose the child down until he/she is clean. He thinks this will save him from wiping, and motivate the child to learn to wipe himself/herself. Are you sure there is hope for him??
